Lighthouses are symbolic as beacons of hope, and have been a favorite subject of poets and artists. Many lighthouses now have their own preservation societies, museums, and websites.

This page has pictures I took of my favorite local lighthouse, Barnegat Light. It marks the inlet to the Barnegat Bay, along the Atlantic Ocean, on Long Beach Island, in New Jersey.
